MYRTLE BEACH S.C – Simpsonville, South Carolina’s Colby “The Kid” Howard will be in the field tonight when Myrtle Beach Speedway throws the green on the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late model program.
Howard, 15, has been racking up the top fives lately but is still looking for his first win in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model Series.
The youngster is ready to go to the front this evening on the abrasive half-mile surface.
DRIVER’S SIDE PREVIEW: “We are getting things sorted out now and we’ve been a lot more competitive lately . I have said that I really enjoy racing at Myrtle Beach because it makes you think about tire management and being patient. I am excited to get on the track with our “The Oderless” car and see what we can do.”
COLBY ON GETTING HIS FIRST LATE MODEL WIN: “I really want to win as much for our team, our sponsors and our fans. Growing up around the sport, you learn what it really means to have so many people working so hard so you can win when you finally get the chance to be behind the wheel yourself. I am growing as a driver and the last month, we’ve been really fast almost everywhere we’ve gone. Qualifying is going to be important tonight. If we can start up front I have confidence we can challenge for a win. When it finally comes it will be exciting for the whole team.”
