Double The Fun For Colby The Kid This Weekend

ANDERSON/MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Colby “The Kid” Howard nearly pulled off a career milestone by beating three-time NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Champion Lee Pulliam at Myrtle Beach Speedway two weeks ago.

The Simpsonville, South Carolina settled for a close second that night, but will have another chance this Saturday as he returns to The Beach after running at Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, South Carolina on Friday night.

The fan-friendly third generation racer is mighty anxious to get back into his beautiful No. 16 and chase the win he knows is right in front of him.

“I want to win so bad,” he said with a smile. “It’s not even about me. I want to win for our team and fans who’ve stuck with me this year while we’ve learned how to be competitive as a group with me behind the wheel in the stock division. I had a lot to learn, and I still do. We had things to learn as a team. I feel like we’ve made a lot of progress in the last month or so and the second place we had last time out at Myrtle Beach gave us the confidence to know we could run for wins. Eubanks Oil, Southern Utilities and The Odorless are great sponsors and I want to park it in victory lane again for all of them. I know that win is coming. We’ll keep fighting until it happens!”

Talking about running back to back nights also has Howard excited.

“I always enjoy racing at Anderson. I basically started there and it’s always fun. We have a lot of fans there and at Greenville when we race there, too. But I really like Myrtle Beach, so running twice in one weekend isn’t stressful. It’s fun because it’s those two tracks. I know it’s hard on the team more than me because they all work during the week, spend so much time in the shop and then work hard at the track for two days. I am lucky to be able to do what I love and I am looking forward to both races.”
