ABOUT COLBY

COLBY HOWARD.

HOMETOWN: SIMPSONVILLE, SC.

DATE OF BIRTH: 10/28/2001.

Colby Howard grew up in Simpsonville, South Carolina, with racing in his blood. As a third-generation driver, Colby learned the ropes from his grandfather Buddy Howard, a four-time Greenville Pickens Speedway late model champion, and his father Rodney Howard, a former competitor in the NASCAR Busch Series.

Howard cut his teeth at Greenville Pickens and Anderson Motor Speedway, both competitive tracks in the upstate of South Carolina. After starting in Bandolero cars, he graduated to mini-stocks, limited late models, and full-blown late model stock cars with success.

In 2018-2019, Colby ran select ARCA Menards Series races along with late model starts throughout the southeast. These races prepared him to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Phoenix in 2019.

2020 was one of the biggest year in Colby Howard’s professional career, as it was announced that he would compete in 22 races for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

With learning at the forefront of his agenda, Colby focused on racing at the larger intermediate tracks - the bulk of the schedule. At Daytona International Speedway in August, Colby earned a best career finish of 12th place.

In 2022, Colby was announced as the driver of the Gates Hydraulics No.91 Chevrolet for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing.

When Colby is not racing, he spends his time away from the track hunting, golfing, and piloting small aircraft.
